Alternative Sweetener to Table Sugar:AGAVE


All the downsides of sugar, sweet diet truth, can make you wonder is their an alternative.  Obviously, a no sugar diet other than a few pieces of fruit is the healthiest way to stay fit and lean.  However, natural alternatives are hitting the market as consumers won’t give up their sweet tooth. 

So, here is a great alternative sweetner that works great in baked goods, lemonade, cereals, coffee etc…

AGAVE NECTAR, it’s sweeter than standard table sugar so you need less to satisfy your sweet levels.  Plus, it contains minerals (calcium,iron, magnesium, potassium and other nutrients probably not yet isloated.  It can come in two varieties, as always try to buy it organic and raw.  Agave comes in light and dark.  Light being best for coffee, sauces,etc.  and the dark best for muffins, cakes and baking.

By the way, Agave is a low glycemic sweetner so it causes a less fluctuation in blood glucose hence less change in insulin levels which is critical for controlling diabetes and weight management.

The Alkaline diet is basically a diet that emphasizes SELECT (alkaline based ) foods consisting mainly of fresh vegetables, fruits, nuts legumes and grains.   It deemphasizes SELECT (acidic based) foods consisting mainly of sugars, caffeine,refined grains, animal proteins, processed foods, chemical and artificial ingredients and so on….

Basically, following this type of diet is so much healthier and better for you overall health than any high protein body building diet.  The challenge is whether a person can become disciplined enough to stick to it…as with many other diets.  I’ve been on a modified type of this diet but when I was very strict for 4 weeks I had increased energy, great skin, no colds and felt great.
